Welcome to one of the premiere rafting rivers in the west! The Gallatin offers you the chance to take in incredible scenery and paddle through some fun, challenging and continuous whitewater. We offer different stretches of river for varying skill levels.
Location Location Location! Since we are less than a few minutes drive from the end of your trip, you are back to your dry clothes, pictures and snacks ASAP. Our Hot Lunch Truck will be serving up delicious food whenever you need it - before of after your trip!
Our Gallatin River office is located on highway 191 between Bozeman and Big Sky, North of West Yellowstone. This is our meeting place for Gallatin or Madison River Trips.

CLASSIC HALF DAY (class II-IV)

The classic half-day trip runs through the heart of the whitest water in the Yellowstone Area!
You'll begin with some small rapids which progress in size until we drop into the lower canyon where we'll run BIG rapids including House Rock and the continuous Mad Mile.
The total time required for the trip is about 3 hours. We shuttle you to and from the river.
Our office is located just minutes from the end of the trip - so you can get right back to change into dry clothes and get comfortable.

HALF DAY UPPER WHITEWATER (class II-III)

Offered for folks who are looking for a fun time without the challenge of the Mad Mile - especially in June when the water is high. Enjoy fun rapids such as Hilarity Hole, Screaming Left, and High-Speed Alley. These rapids offer fun splashes and relatively easy navigation without the challenge of long rapids like the Mad Mile. Great for families and first timers, this trip is packed with excitement! See below for the scenic float trip with no rapids at all.

Spend time with friends and family, float the river, and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. This is a great trip for those who do not want big splashes or any whitewater.
The Gallatin River Canyon is the perfect setting for kicking back and relaxing out in nature. Your guide will share stories and area information with the group as you make your way down river. Keep your eyes open for wildlife sightings along the way. A keen observer might spot bald eagles, marmots, or even a moose! The scenery, featured in the movie A River Runs Through It, is one of the hightlights of Montana.
CLASSIC FULL DAY (class I-IV)

Spend the morning observing wildlife while floating by mountain meadows and spectacular rock outcroppings. You'll run Snake Bite, Mother Eater and Portal Creek rapids. We'll take a break to indulge in a delicious all you can eat lunch by the river. (Deli meats and cheeses to make your own hoagies + chips, cookies, soda). You are welcome to stash your own goodies in the cooler as well. Enjoy an exhilarating afternoon rafting the lower canyon. (See half-day). Your group can choose to include the Mad MIle or not. Without the Mad Mile, the trip is class I-III. Your guide carries a dry-bag for you to store whatever you might need for the day.

With a smaller boat, you have the option of getting a bigger ride and more splashes. Hit the rapids of the Classic Half Day Section and enjoy this amazing little boat that seems like it was designed specially for the Gallatin River.
Not only is this boat just a great time, but it offers an option for people who are looking for a private rafting experience.
This trip is great when water levels start to drop - offering a more exciting ride for groups of 2 or 3.

This trip is great when water levels start to drop - offering a challenging and unique experience. If you know you love whitewater and are ready to step up to the next level, give the shredder a try.

We team up with Broken Hart Ranch to offer this top notch combination! Ride up through the Gallatin National Forest at Hellroaring Creek Trail. This is a real Montana trail ride - up switchbacks and over mountain streams through pristine back country. Beautiful Views and magical forests await you! This ride is most suited to the adventurous or those with some riding experience. After your ride, Meet at Montana Whitewater for the afternoon raft trip Classic Half-Day at 1:15 on the Gallatin River. Weight Limit 250 lbs. Minimum age is 10 unless child has horseback riding experience.
MONTANA MADNESS DINNER TRIP

Our incredibly fun dinner trips are becoming one of the most popular events in the canyon. We'll take you on our half day raft trip and down the river a little further. Slip into something more comfortable and dine on the banks of the river - enjoy a barbeque dinner of steak or burgers with baked potato, corn on the cob and chips/salsa. Great for family reunions, weddings, staff parties, or just about any celebration. Our corporate clients include Gibson Guitar, Target, McDonalds Restaurants, Supreme Court Judges...

Always wanted to learn fly fishing and love to go rafting? This is the day for you. Mix learning and fun for a full day of adventure. Our experienced guides provide a setting that is ideal for families and first time fly fishers. The class begins with dryland casting practice, safety techniques, and familiarization with fly fishing gear. Our guides also teach basic information on fish and fish habitat, reading water, identifying insects, and selecting flies. We are proud to offer the fly fishing experience on private land located on a prime fishing hole on the Gallatin River. Take a break for lunch, then gear up for rafting and hit the water. Our half-day rafting offers spectacular scenery and class II-IV rapids. You must obtain a fishing license prior to the trip

Feeling adventurous? Get out on the water and paddle a one person inflatable kayak. Learn the basic skills from a guide and then try it out for yourself. More excitement than rafting, without requiring very much skill. If you are interested in eventually doing some whitewater kayaking, the duckie is a great way to try out solo boating! You get huge hits! The duckies are very stable which helps to keep you from flipping over when you hit those big holes and waves. A guide will introduce you to the techniques and then assist you as you navigate class II and III rapids.
Participants must have good swimming skills. Minimum recommended age is 13.
